Agriculture and Natural Resources

Peter Warren is the Horticulture & Natural Resources Extension Agent for Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson Counties.  He coordinates the Master Gardener Volunteer Program in these five counties as well as serving as a Chapter Advisor for the Rivanna Master Naturalists.  He specializes in Entomology and Integrated Pest Management techniques for a wide variety of applications including landscapes, homes, and crops.

Carrie Swanson is the Animal Science Agent for Albemarle County and your first point of contact for general questions and information relating to livestock, pastures and horses. She also serves the neighboring counties of Nelson, Louisa, Fluvanna and Greene. Carrie’s specialty is in horse management and nutrition, but she has a broad background in production livestock species as well. Other agents who serve Albemarle County residents include:
