Kathryn (Katie) Strong

A Vision for a Stronger Commonwealth

Serving Arlington County, Ms. Strong provides Family and Consumer Science educational programs specializing in foods, nutrition, and health. Programs use research-based knowledge to teach people how to make good choices for themselves and their family units. This, in turn, strengthens communities and the commonwealth.

Ms. Strong’s programs teach youth, adult, and senior residents skills to prevent chronic disease, handle food safely, and spend money wisely. Partnerships with other state and local agencies and trained volunteers help maximize the impact and quality of Virginia Cooperative Extension’s food, nutrition, and wellness programs.
