Extension Agent in the Animal Science Department, College of Agriculture and Life
Sciences, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA.
Provide educational assistance and opportunity to the agricultural production sector and
related service industries of Augusta, Rockingham and Rockbridge counties. These include
the top two agricultural production counties in the Commonwealth in the areas of sales,
livestock, forage production and total farm acreage. Primary responsibility is animal science
with a particular emphasis on food animal production and pasture and forage management.

•Efficient feeding of beef cattle through understanding forage quality
•Providing understanding of beef carcass merit for youth beef production
•Implementation of improved forage programs for stocker cattle grazing
