New London Cannery

The current economy has many folks thinking about growing their own produce, but why not enjoy the fruits of your labor during those cold, snowy winter months as well?  Many area residents are unaware of the gem of a food-preservation resource available to them locally. For more than 50 years, Bedford County has operated a community cannery at New London Academy.

2012 Central Virginia Livestock Show & Sale

4-H and the Future Farmers of America (FFA) offer an exciting way for youth ages 9-19 to experience the rewards of raising and caring for livestock.  Even youth who are not farmers, do not live on a farm, and have no experience working with livestock can begin raising a project animal under the guidance of Virginia Cooperative Extension, and learn character building life skills through accepting responsibility for a living creature.  Introduction  Rules & Regulations  Entry Form
