The Buckingham County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is your local connection to Virginia's land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University.

Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of Buckingham County improve their lives.

Language Interpretation Services Now Available

If you have limited English skills, do not let that stop you from visiting an Extension office. If you have difficulty speaking or understanding English, our staff can serve you by connecting you to one of our Extension agents through a telephone-based interpreter. Interpretation for more than 200 languages is provided. This service is free to our clients. Read more

2016 Summer 4-H Programs

Join us this summer for day camps, overnight camps, and special one-day programs!

4-H summer programs provide all youth a place to discover, learn, and grow. We believe strongly in promoting the mission of Virginia 4-H, which encourages all young people to reach their full potential by working and learning in partnership with caring adults. Experienced leaders provide a well-supervised and supportive environment. We believe there is no better investment than your child attending camp! No matter which 4-H camp your child goes to, camp is a great place to meet new friends, to try something new, and to build cherished memories that last a lifetime! When: June 10-12, 2016

Where: Jamestown 4-H Educational Center

Who: For rising 6th - 8th grade youth (youth must not have turned 14 before camp begins)

Cost: $85.00

2016 Summer Cloverbud Camp

When: June 17 - 19, 2016

Where: Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center

Who: Youth ages 5-8

Cost: Early Bird: $87 per camper (register before May 27,2016 )
Regular Price: $97 per camper (register after May 27, 2016 )
This covers all programming fees, meals and lodging.

Additional Information: Cloverbud is designed to introduce children ages 5-8, to the 4-H camping experience. Camp is limited to 60 boys and 60 girls.
