Campbell County 4-H  has grown to become a diverse program using a variety of delivery modes.   I have worked to truly make this program have something for everyone.  Campbell County 4-H is home to traditional 4-H clubs such as project clubs and community clubs.  We also offer camping opportunities in the form of week long residential camps, weekend camps, and day camps.  The Campbell 4-H program has developed a wonderful partnership with the public school system to offer in-school 4-H programming to over six hundred fourth grade youth members.  In-school 4-H clubs serve as an introduction to 4-H and a way for youth to learn how to “get involved”.  Campbell county 4-H welcomes home schooled youth and is home to clubs that specialize in enrolling home schooled youth members.  The Campbell County 4-H program offers leadership opportunities for teenage youth through the competitive teen counselor program. This is a great starting point for exploring other opportunities offered on the state, national, and international level.

The Campbell County 4-H program could not reach the large audience and make the impact it does without over one hundred and fifty adult volunteers that keep the program running.   Volunteers act in roles of club leaders, project leaders, adult camp supervisors, leadership council members, and much more.   Volunteer training is offered in each area of volunteer interest.   Through the cooperative effort of Extension faculty, staff, and volunteers, we “Make the Best Better” each day in Campbell County 4-H.
