The Caroline County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is your local connection to Virginia's land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University.

Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of Caroline County improve their lives.

We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

Language Interpretation Services Now Available

If you have limited English skills, do not let that stop you from visiting an Extension office. If you have difficulty speaking or understanding English, our staff can serve you by connecting you to one of our Extension agents through a telephone-based interpreter. Interpretation for more than 200 languages is provided. This service is free to our clients. Read more

Virginia Spring 2016 Judging School

You are invited to the Virginia Spring Judging School, Saturday, May 14, 2016 to be held at the Countryside Children’s Daycare Building, 8025 Prosperity Way, Ruther Glen, VA 22546. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.; the program concludes at 2:30 p.m. Light morning refreshments and lunch are included in the $20.00 registration fee. Sponsored by the Caroline County Agricultural Fair, Virginia Cooperative Extension and Virginia Association of Fairs, the purpose of the judging school is to train and certify judges for county fairs, the State Fair of Virginia, and other home goods and related competitions throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical knowledge of fair judging and a greater understanding of county fairs and the educational opportunities they present. More details here.
