Myra Lyons has been with the Chesapeake Extension Office since June 2006.   Prior to that she worked for the City of Chesapeake for 17 years.    In her previous capacity with the City, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Director of Human Resources.   In that capacity she primarily worked with policy interpretation, payroll, budgets and used her knowledge of various software packages to assist with programming efforts, much as she does now.  

Myra is classified as an ISTJ by the Myers Briggs Indicator.   That characteristic of “Doing what should be Done” is demonstrated in her work for Extension as well as her volunteer commitments in her local church and local elementary school.  

Myra is a proud native of Portsmouth but enjoys traveling within the United States.
