Clyde serves as the Program Manager for Virginia’s OMK (Operation Military KIDS) and 4-H Military Programs. He supports 4-H agents and program assistants with establishing and sustaining 4-H clubs on military installations. Virginia has the largest number of children impacted by the military. Over 1,000 military youth in Virginia are enrolled in Virginia 4-H Programs. His work with Virginia’s National Guard and the Army Reserve supports their youth and family staff in reaching the geographically dispersed military youth with programs and resources that will help them deal with the deployment period of a loved one. Clyde provides RSG (Ready, Set Go!!) Training which educates community leaders and service providers on issues facing families dealing with deployment; coordinates and trains teens to participate in a Speak Out for Military KIDS Speakers Bureau; manages the use of the Mobile TECH LAB; connects military families with community resources; provides networking opportunities for military staff working with youth and families, and distributes HERO Bags to children of deployed soldiers.
