4-H Youth Development

Floyd County has a thriving youth development program.  Along with our in-school 4-H clubs there are several community clubs in Floyd County.

Sewing Club:  meets monthly with occasional workshops - all sewing skills are welcomed.

Livestock Club:  meets monthly in the Check area

Shooting Club:  members in this club love shooting sports and are working towards participating in local and state competitions

Horse Club:  This club meets each month in the Floyd area and focuses on everything horses.  You do not have to have a horse to be an active member in this club.

Destination Teen Club:  Teen members 8th-12th grade have monthly meetings and activities.  They focus on leadership, communication, community service and lots of fun.  An exciting event for this club is the 4-H Exchange with other states.

Living Heritage Club:  Members of this club meet in the Willis/Indian Valley area.  As a group they focus on heritage skills and livestock production.  You do not have to own any animals to be a part of this group.

If you are interested in being a member of any of these clubs, please contact the Floyd County Virginia Cooperative Extension Office at (540) 745-9308 and we will be glad to assist you.
