Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of Franklin County improve their lives.

We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

Language Interpretation Services Now Available

If you have limited English skills, do not let that stop you from visiting an Extension office. If you have difficulty speaking or understanding English, our staff can serve you by connecting you to one of our Extension agents through a telephone-based interpreter. Interpretation for more than 200 languages is provided. This service is free to our clients. Read more

Foothills Produce Auction, LLC

Who: Foothills Produce Auction, LLC

What: Wholesale Produce Auction

When: Tuesdays and Fridays beginning at 9:30 a.m.; Starts May 6, 2016

Where: 359 Boones Mill Road, Boones Mill, VA 24065

Why: Foothills Produce Auction will serve as a source for selling or buying wholesale lots of fresh produce, hanging baskets, plants, and similar agricultural goods. Details are set forth in buyer and seller guidelines that have been established by the auction board. 2016 4-H Summer Camp

When: June 20-24, 2016

Who: Youth Ages 9-13

Cost: $240.00 Applications for need-based partial Scholarship are available upon request, please call the office. You can pick one up at the office of VCE, 90 East Court Street, Rocky Mount or call us and we can email it to you.

Additional Information: 4-H Camp Registration Form - A deposit of $50.00 is required to secure a place at Camp. You may also pay the full amount. Once the registration form is received you will receive the class list and the other registration forms. If you apply for a scholarship, the form must accompany this registration form. Remember to get your forms in As Soon As Possible!
