Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of Franklin County improve their lives.

We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

Food Challenge 2015

Virginia 4-H Food Challenge

More than 120,000 youth participate in the 4-H Food & Nutrition Project, learning how to prepare nutritious and safe meals and snacks and adopt behaviors that can help reduce their risk for chronic disease. This contest challenges teams of 4-H members to create a dish using only a predetermined set of ingredients. From these ingredients, team members must identify and prepare the dish, then make a presentation about it to the judges.

When: Saturday, May 9, 2015

Where: Chef Camp, 8144 Mount Laurel Road, Clover, VA 24534

Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Other Information: Participants will be required to meet once per week and must be committed to participate in the Central District Food Challenge on May 9th in Halifax County.
