This 4-hour, basic food safety class will include instruction on employee hygiene, protecting food in preparation and service, harmful bacteria, contamination and food borne illness, purchasing and receiving safe foods, food storage, and much more.

The $15 registration fee includes an instructional booklet and other food safety tools to use at your work site or at home.

The class will be organized and taught by Virginia Cooperative Extension Family and Consumer Science Agents and Sharon Ortiz-Garcia, an Environmental Health Food Specialist from the Franklin County Health Department.
