Virginia Cooperative Extension Celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act
Join Virginia Cooperative Extension as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, which officially established the National Cooperative Extension System. Activities are being planned throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to commemorate the centennial in 2014. Events will be held in local communities, recognition of our Extension volunteers, and even a Virginia Cooperative Extension Day on May 8! Check this site frequently for periodic centennial updates and articles about Virginia Cooperative Extension programs and events.
Vegetable Garden Series
Come learn what you need to know about raising your own vegetables. The following main topics will be discussed: planning your garden, soils and soil amendments, common diseases and pests of all major vegetables, minimal pesticide use and more. Please pre-register by calling the Goochland Extension Office at 804-556-5841 or email email@example.com by February 21st. Space is limited … a minimum of 12/maximum of 30 participants.

Goochland Leadership Enterprise, 18th Class, 2013 - 2014
The Goochland Leadership Enterprise program consists of fifteen sessions and a Graduation dinner. The majority of meetings are scheduled on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at various locations around the County with one daytime meeting at the State Capital. The registration fee is the only cost to the participant and covers materials and meals during Orientation, Day at the Capital, Dinner with the Supervisors and the Graduation Dinner. Scholarships are available on a need basis. Applications will be accepted beginning July 1st, apply early as the class size is limited.
