Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program Graduates Thirteen
The May meeting of the Southside Master Gardener Association was held at Beth Carr Baptist Church in Halifax to honor thirteen graduates of the Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Class of 2009. Candidates completed 50 hours of training in all aspects of horticulture education and passed a written exam. As a condition of the training program, within the next year, each graduate must contribute 50 hours of volunteer time in horticulture programming to the community. New intern graduates Fred Blackburn, Marge Blackman, Amiel Cavanaugh, Aubrey Clark, Pat Coughlin, Doris Koch, Rick Martinson, Pat Mason, Lori-Mitchum-Burns, Barbara Royster, Clifford Somerville, Shirley Whitlow and William Wood were presented with certificates. Congratulations and welcome!
