4-H Peer Teacher Training Program 2013
Virginia Cooperative Extension (4-H) and Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation invite youth to apply for the summer 4-H Peer Teacher Training Program at Jamestown Settlement. Peer teachers learn about history and interpretation. This program will offer a training session in June and August. At the conclusion of the 4-H Peer Teacher Training Program, peer teachers may be selected to volunteer with the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation in the fall. If selected as a Youth Volunteer, participants will work in costume and assist visitors with hands-on activities at ship, fort, or village sites at Jamestown Settlement or the Continental Army Encampment or 1780s Farm at the Yorktown Victory Center at least 8 hours a month. Costumes will only be provided for those participants that are selected for Youth Volunteer positions in the fall. Applications are due no later than April 5 and interviews will be schedule beginning the week of April 15.

James City County 4-H Companion Dog Training
4-H Companion Dog Training – (youth ages 9 – 18) Teach your dog to become an AKC Canine Good Citizen. Participants will learn to become responsible dog owners and teach their dog how to accept friendly strangers, sit politely for petting, interact with other dogs, and much more.
Classes will be conducted on Tuesdays at the James City County Recreation Center from March 6 - April 30 from 6:00 to 7:30. No class will be held on March 19 or April 2.

2013 Junior 4-H Camp
June 24 - 28, 2013
For youth ages 9 -14.
Cost: $235
REGISTRATION BEGINS MARCH 1. Please do not submit your application with a postmark before March 1, 2013 or it will be returned.
Residential overnight camp with fun, friends, leadership, learning, swimming, archery, canoeing, cookouts, crafts, sports, campfires, survival skills, etc.—all in a beautiful outdoor setting. The James City County 4-H Junior camp is for boys and girls ages 9-14.
Counselors Needed
Youth ages 14-18 (on or before January 1, 2013) from James City and Williamsburg, are invited to apply for 4-H Junior Camp Counselor positions at Jamestown 4-H Educational Center for the camping week of June 24 - 28, 2013. Applications for teen counselor and C.I.T. positions are due no later than March 1, 2013.
