Activities are being planned throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to commemorate the centennial in 2014. Events will be held in local communities, recognition of our Extension volunteers, and even a Virginia Cooperative Extension Day on May 8! Check this site frequently for periodic centennial updates and articles about Virginia Cooperative Extension programs and events.
2015 VCE Master Gardener Training Program
The Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) Master Gardener Program will begin accepting applications for the 2015 training class through November 2, 2014. Classes will meet for three hours Monday and Wednesday mornings from January 5 through April 2, 2015. In order to become a Master Gardener, a candidate for the program must complete a 13 week classroom program as well as all assignments and quizzes. This qualifies the participant as a Master Gardener Intern. Master Gardener Interns are required to complete 50 volunteer project hours and 20 hours on the Master Gardener Help Desk to become fully certified as a Master Gardener.
