The Middlesex County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is your local connection to Virginia's land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University.

Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of Middlesex County improve their lives.

We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

Virginia Cooperative Extension Celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act

Join Virginia Cooperative Extension as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, which officially established the National Cooperative Extension System. Activities are being planned throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to commemorate the centennial in 2014. Events will be held in local communities, recognition of our Extension volunteers, and even a Virginia Cooperative Extension Day on May 8! Check this site frequently for periodic centennial updates and articles about Virginia Cooperative Extension programs and events.

Well Water Clinic

Kickoff Meeting: July 21st at 10:00 AM or July 22nd at 7:00 PM

Location: Cooks Corner Office Complex, 2893 General Puller Highway, Saluda

Cost: $49.00*

We will start by providing general education on well management and well water safety. We will also discuss proper ways to take samples, and provide the sample kits to all participants. Those samples must be dropped off at the Middlesex Extension office - 44 Oakes Landing Road, Suite A, (P.O. Box 96) Saluda, VA 23149 - no later than 9:30 AM on July 23rd!

On August 28th, at 7:00 PM at the Cooks Corner Office Complex, all participants will receive their testing results back, which will include levels of potentially harmful contaminants. Common health concerns and solutions will be discussed.
