SPA Financial Evaluation Program for Beef Producers:
Are you interested in determining what it cost to maintain a cow for a year? Are you interested in seeing how your beef farm compares to other beef operations in this area? Over the next several months I am willing to work with you individually to determine your production cost using an IRM worksheet called SPA. This process involves answering 43 production and financial questions about your operation. This will require some detail production and financial records on your farm from 2008. In these very tough times this will help you determine where to cut cost and where you need to be more productive. By combining local producers' data without using names you will also be able to compare your operation to the average farm in the area. It will take some time before we have those averages. Let me know if you are interested. The process is not short or easy, but can be very helpful.
