2010 Positive and Practical Parenting Workshops

Parent Education - 2010

Parents or caregivers of preschool, late elementary school age children and teens are invited to participate in the “Positive and Practical Parenting” program sponsored by the Petersburg Office of Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Petersburg Department of Social Services. The 2010 classes are for eight weeks (20 hours) and are held on Thursdays:

♦    January 21, 28, February 4, 11, 18, 25, March 4, 11, 2010.

♦    March 25, April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 2010

♦    August 5, 12, 19, 26, September 2, 9, 16, 23, 2010

♦    September 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28, November 4, *10, 18, 2010,

*NOTE: November 10 is a Wednesday. Due to the holiday, the building will be closed on Thursday, November 11.

Classes are held 10 AM – 12:30 PM. Pre-registration is required. Participants must attend all eight (8) weeks to receive a certificate. All sessions will be held at Virginia Cooperative Extension – Petersburg Office located in the Petersburg Department of Social Services Building, 400 Farmer Street, Room 209. The “Positive and Practical Parenting” sessions will help parents as they provide nurturing and guidance to their children.
