Co-Parenting Education - Parents Forever Living Apart-Parenting Together
Fewer than half of America's children can expect to live in a home with both their biological parents, whether their parents were divorced or never married. To address the challenges faced by parents in conflict, Virginia Cooperative Extension now offers Living Apart - Parenting Together at the Petersburg Extension Office, 400 Farmer Street, Conference Room 209 on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 and Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. This four-hour course meets the parent education guidelines established by the Supreme Court of Virginia. This course helps parents understand the impact of divorce or separation on their children as well as ways to avoid placing children in the uncomfortable role of being in the middle of parental conflict. Classes are presented in a discussion group setting and offer a practical and realistic approach to parenting. For registration or further information, call Virginia Cooperative Extension, Petersburg Office at 804/733-1880. Materials fee is $50.00 per person per class.
