Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of City of Portsmouth improve their lives.

We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

FIT Extension is an 8 week, evidence- based, online, healthy lifestyle program. You will be asked to sign up in teams of 5 and compete with increasing fruit and vegetable intake and physical activity.

4-H News and Programs

4-H summer camp Registration

Each summer Portsmouth sponsors a one-week residential camp at the Airfield  4-H Center for youth ages 9-13 (Campers must turn 9 between October 1, 2014 and September 30, 2015.  Must not turn 14 prior to October 1, 2015).  This year camp will be held August 3-7, 2015.  It is a great opportunity for youth to experience the outdoors through a variety of activities including archery, canoeing, kayaking, cooking, rifle, robotics, sailing, swimming, and much more!  Camp is also an excellent way for youth to develop a sense of independence while also making new friends & having fun.  For questions or more information please contact Greg Costanza at the Portsmouth Extension Office at (757) 393-8109.
