Virginia Cooperative Extension Celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act
Join Virginia Cooperative Extension as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, which officially established the National Cooperative Extension System. Activities are being planned throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to commemorate the centennial in 2014. Events will be held in local communities, recognition of our Extension volunteers, and even a Virginia Cooperative Extension Day on May 8! Cook Smart, Eat Smart
Cook Smart, Eat Smart cooking program will teach youth how to prepare simple, healthy and delicious food to share with their families. Learn to cook quick and nutritious meals on a budget.
When: December 2, 9 and 16, 2014
Where: Powhatan Village Building, 3910 Old Buckingham Road
Time: 3:15 p.m - 5:30 p.m.
Cost: $15 (checks payable to Treasurer of VA Tech)

Other: Please bring a nonperishable canned good weekly to donate to the Powhatan Food Pantry!

Powhatan Master Gardener Training
We are now accepting applications for Master Gardener Training for 2015. We will start training sessions starting Tuesday January 13, 2015 and meet every Tuesday and Friday through March.

Training fees are $135.00 and the deadline for Applications is November 1, 2014.
