Virginia Cooperative Extension takes pride in the premise that vital programming is based on the issues, problems, and needs of the people. A thorough analysis of the situation provides context for understanding and addressing these problems. Each local office updates their situation analysis every 4-5 years.

Language Interpretation Services Now Available
If you have limited English skills, do not let that stop you from visiting an Extension office. If you have difficulty speaking or understanding English, our staff can serve you by connecting you to one of our Extension agents through a telephone-based interpreter. Interpretation for more than 200 languages is provided. This service is free to our clients. Read more
The Rural Health team wants to improve your access to health education and wellness information by bringing educational classes to your community at your convenience. Health Education for Veterans. JMG: Farm to Table Camp
July 19-22, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
This educational program promotes life skills, hands-on gardening basics, and physical activity. Youth ages 9-13 will learn the importance of agriculture, from the food we eat to meeting area producers. Register today!

Summer STEM Day Camps
Summer STEM Day Camps for rising 5th-7th graders at Powhatan Public Library.
This day camp will offer a fun, safe, engaging educational environment to learn, explore and build self-confidence while getting creative! Each day provides unique activities that encourage science, technology, engineering and mathematical skills.
