Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of Richmond County improve their lives.

We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

Virginia Cooperative Extension Celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act

Join Virginia Cooperative Extension as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, which officially established the National Cooperative Extension System. Activities are being planned throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to commemorate the centennial in 2014. Events will be held in local communities, recognition of our Extension volunteers, and even a Virginia Cooperative Extension Day on May 8! Special 4-H Camp Gift Certificates Available Now

Put the gift of 4-H Camp under your tree! Special holiday gift certificates are available now the Westmoreland/Richmond County session of 4-H camp. These gift certificates cost $200 and cover the cost of our one-week session of 4-H Jr. Camp at the Jamestown 4-H Center from July 27-31, 2015. This special price will not last long – camp will cost $220-240 after this holiday special. To purchase a gift certificate to 4-H camp, please visit the Westmoreland or Richmond County Office of Virginia Cooperative Extension by December 24.
