Lorrie Maupin is the Family Nutrition Program Assistant serving the localities of Richmond, Essex, Westmoreland, Lancaster, and Northumberland counties. She is housed in the Richmond County Extension Office. The Family Nutrition Program Assistant works with limited income families in the community delivering nutrition education at various sites.
Nutrition lessons are based on the needs of participants and include topics such as My Pyramid (5 food groups), Physical Activity, Smart Shopping, Food Safety and Making Food at Home. Cooking demonstrations, games/group activities, slides/videos, discussions & print materials are part of each topic.

Education:
Graduated from Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, VA; Graduated Central Virginia Community College in Lynchburg, Virginia with a AS in  Child Development and Graduated Rappahannock Community College with an AA is General Studies; Currently working on a Behavioral Science Degree from Bluefield College.

Personal:
Lorrie and her husband have 4 children. They are very active and involved in the community and Totuskey Baptist Church.
