First Aid and CPR for Horse & Rider

FIRST AID AND CPR FOR HORSE & RIDER

Proper First Aid and CPR administration can be pivotal in emergency situations, especially those involving horses and equestrians. Virginia Cooperative Extension is hosting a program on Saturday November 14th from 8am to 5pm on First Aid and CPR for Horse & Rider.

A certified and non-certified tract will be offered for participants following American Heart Association Curriculum. Instruction will be tailored to equestrians using real life scenarios of incidents that have happened to horses and riders in the barn, on the trailer, on the trail or at the horse show.

Instruction will be provided by Robbie Powell, EMT and Fire & Rescue Personnel for rider-related injuries. Jennifer Brown, Clinical Assistant Professor in Equine Surgery and Emergency Care at the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center, will be teaching the horse-related injury portion of the course.

Please plan to join us on November 14th for this educational program at the Warren County Government Center in Front Royal, VA.  The registration fees due by October 30th are as follows: Non-Certified is $25; Certified is $50.
