Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of York County/City of Poquoson improve their lives.

We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

Virginia Cooperative Extension Celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act

Join Virginia Cooperative Extension as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, which officially established the National Cooperative Extension System. Activities are being planned throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to commemorate the centennial in 2014. Events will be held in local communities, recognition of our Extension volunteers, and even a Virginia Cooperative Extension Day on May 8! 2014 Peninsula Master Gardener training

Peninsula Master Gardener Training application due July 15, 2014!

Residents of Gloucester, Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and York can apply now for the Peninsula Master Gardener Training, which will take place Tues. and Thurs., September 2 – November 13. The course fee of $110 covers the handbook and other materials.

The 2014 version of Virginia Cooperative Extension's Pest Management Guides are now available on our website. The guides cover Field Crops, Home Grounds and Animals, and Horticultural and Forest Crops.
