2012 York Mums Project
The award-winning 4-H Mums Project combines the skills of growing plants with the knowledge of how to account for, market, and sell a "product." Youth ages 10 to 15 will receive materials to grow 20 chrysanthemums and will attend four educational sessions (one hour each) through the summer.
Classes will meet May 31, June 14, June 28, July 12, and August 9, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Luke's Methodist Church on Ella Taylor Road.
Application and registration fee of $10 must be received before the first class. Registration forms are available by calling 890-4940 and can be found online at http://www.yorkcounty.gov/vce
2012 Penin. MG Training
The Peninsula offices of Gloucester, Hampton, Newport News & York are now excepting applications for the 2012 Peninsula Master Gardener Training. Training will be Tues. & Thurs. mornings beginning Sept 4.
