Peninsula Master Gardener Training
Master Gardeners are a vital resource to the Cooperative Extension program. These volunteers teach classes, answer horticultural inquiries, present programs, and diagnose plant diseases. Master Gardeners extend the resources of the land-grant universities through their volunteer efforts.
The Peninsula offices of the Virginia Cooperative Extension will sponsor the 2010 Master Gardener training, which will be held each Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9am to noon from September 7 through November 18. Classes will be held at Northside Christian Church, located on Route 17 in the Tabb area of York County. Participants in the program attend all classes and will receive a minimum of 60 hours of horticultural information. Upon graduation the participant will return 50 hours of service to the Virginia Cooperative Extension, through answering the phone, conducting educational programs, leading a team, support positions, and many other areas.
The deadline to apply is May 28. For more information, call 757-890-4940.
